Todays images are of the ‘Handel & Wandel’ Event in the Grote Markt in The Hague on 14 April 2012.
The ‘Handel & Wandle’ Event part of the ‘History of The Hague day’ (Dag van de Haagse geschiedenis) was located at the Grote Markt with each of the 30+ participating museums, historical societies and organisations operating from their own market stall, providing interesting and wide-ranging information everything from architecture and archeology to sites of historical interest in The Hague, as well as arranging tickets and tours for those that wanted to investigate The Hague’s history further.
A further sense of history was brought to the ‘Handel & Wandel’ Event by the ‘Prinses Irene Brigade’ re-enactment society as well a Haagse knight and a 17th century tour guide, musician and peasants all in period dress.
