Todays images are of the O’Neill Kite Board World Cup taken 15 to 20 May 2012.
As part of PKRA World Tour the ‘O’Neill Kite Board World Cup’ event is held for the first time in Scheveningen, near The Hague, The Netherlands.
In competition, the Racing event, riders race on long boards with long fins designed for speed & stability and the Freestyle event, riders display their gymnastic agility on short boards with short fins.
With unpredictable winds, both Freestyle and Racing were in action on the first and last days of competition, with the racing dominating the middle days of competition.
Kiteboarding is a fantastic spectator sport where you get to see the riders pit their skills & ability not only against other competitors but also respond to the winds, tides and currents.
