Todays image is of the ‘Vissersvrouw’ statue, a memorial to all fishermen lost at sea.
The ‘Vissersvrouw’ (‘fishermans wife’) statue has now been returned to Scheveningen Boulevard after a brief spell at the square in front of the Oude Kerk while the Boulevard was being refurbished. The ‘Vissersvrouw’ statue was moved on Monday 16th April 2012.
The ‘Vissersvrouw’ stands gazing out to sea thinking about her loved ones lost at sea.
