The National Lifeboat Service – ‘Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij’ (KNRM) is manned by volunteers and supported by voluntary contributions. The National Lifeboat Day (Nationale Reddingbootdag) provides an opportunity for the KNRM to introduce to the general public some of the activities that they perform.
Most of the KNRM-stations were affected by poor weather including Scheveningen with the thermometer not going much above 10°C, grey overcast skies, rain and 25km winds, the hardy, however, were determined to take a trip on a KNRM Lifeboat and getting an appreciation for what it is like to be aboard a rescue vessel.
Todays photographs were taken on 28 April 2012.
