Todays images are of the New Years Day Dive at Scheveningen Beach on Sunday 1st January 2012.
The New Years Dive a 46 year old tradition encouraging the ‘brave’ to plunge into the icy cold North Sea. And this year possibly due to un-seasonally warm New Years Day there were 5000 participants willing to take the plunge.
The event is sponsored by Unox and participants are rewarded with Dutch Pea Soup a cup of Hot Chocolate and a Orange Hat to warm themselves up afterwards..
